Jeniferever - Choose A Bright Morning

Despite their overtly feminine name, Jeniferever are five young men from Uppsala, Sweden. Their music has been compared to Sigur Ros, Swell and Mogwai but while they would seem to have been inspired by bands like these - especially in their slow, glacial, quiet-loud-quiet arrangements - this album marks itself out as something a little different.
Singer/guitarist Kristoffer Jonson adds a yearning, strangely fragmented voice to a wash of dense but graceful textures that flow together like a river of glue propelled by bright, swishing drums. The carefully constructed ebbs and flows create an emotive, navel-gazing enviroment that fluctuates between despondent shoegazing and majestic stargazing, often in the space of one song.
